Carson Kids Receive Hundreds of Free Backpacks

Back to school season is here, and the Victory Outreach Church of Carson partnered with the city to ensure hundreds of Carson students were ready for their first day. More than 800 backpacks were distributed Aug. 4.

“The City of Carson is doing our part to assist those in our community in getting new free backpacks and getting ready for the new school year,” said Carson Mayor Albert Robles in a statement.

“I want to especially thank Mayor Pro Tem Jawane Hilton for finding partnering organizations as well as personally contributing to this very important project.”

If you need assistance with locating after school programs for your children, visit the City of Carson and Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson websites. Your local school may also have access to others.
