Q:

Please highlight your community involvement, including any previous appointments or elected offices held, volunteer work or other leadership positions. How have these roles prepared you to lead the City of Carson as Council Member?

A:

I am a community volunteer in many organizations and city events for many years. I have been a Public Relations Commissioner since 2013. I belong to Carson Sister Cities Association, Carson Women's Club, Filipino Community of Carson, Lions Club International as a Global Service Coordinator and many other civic organizations.

I have many years of serving as a committee chair, secretary,  and project coordinator of the organizations I belong. These roles prepare me to be an efficient and successful city clerk.

Q:

What does Transparency mean to you, and how will you ensure Carson’s city government is accountable to its residents?

A:

Transparency means open government. As a city clerk I will work diligently to create and maintain an open government. That means  when the public wants access to information that they  have a right to  then the city clerk's office will do their best to accommodate those requests.

Q:

Carson was able to pass a structurally balanced budget for the first time in years, how do you plan to maintain this balanced budget?

A:

As a city clerk, it is equivalent to a department head in maintaining the clerk's office budget. so therefore, I will be sure that there is no wasteful spending or unnecessary use of taxpayer's money.

Q:

What specific policies will you advocate that will benefit the residents of Carson?

A:

As a city clerk, I will initiate outreach programs to inform the residents of the responsibilities and duties of the city clerk. In the past, the city clerk's office has been a resource for the residents that provided services such as notary and passport. I would work with the city council members to expand those programs.
